The arrival of Hugh's youngest son, Avalon brings a century-old feud to a dangerous climax. This vengeful wizard gives Evie's older brother a choice: die or give Evie to him.

A power that might change everything she thought she knew about her family.

My Review:
5 out of 5 stars!

Just when I thought Woodland Creek couldn’t get any more interesting, K.N. Lee proves me wrong!  I absolutely loved this story.  It has everything in it you would look for in a town full of mystery, shifters and wizards.  It definitely had mystery, romance, battling families, and several surprise twists and turns that kept me guessing.   From beginning to end, I never put the book down until I was done (even though it was somewhere around 3 a.m.)!

The Scarlett family was a family that I both would love to hang out with, and want to stay as far away from as possible.  Even to the end, knowing the bad things they had done, I still couldn’t decide if they were “bad guys”, or just doing what was necessary.  And every time I was sure which family would win the battle, I would change my mind again. Not until the last page of the last chapter was I able to find out who the final victor would be – and who would be a part of the final battle.

Avalon was just as tricky…was he a bad guy, or was he a sweet, super hot, but broken hearted man that was just going about things all wrong?

And then there’s Evie…although she is a part of the Scarlett family, she’s never been a part of their wrong-doings, and didn’t even have any knowledge about what her family was, or how much her family had done.  She thought she had an idea, but not until she was thrown into it, and even learned a huge secret about herself, did she finally understand the depth of her family’s mystery.  Trying to be a “normal” woman with a human boyfriend suddenly became unbearably impossible.

It was so impressive that this was only a novella, because there were so many things that happened in this book that kept you guessing, and kept surprising you.  It felt like a full-length novel, but didn’t feel rushed at all.  I highly recommend reading this book – even a few times.  It was just that good!
